Historic Charleston was the charming setting for the heartfelt nuptials of actress Eva Amurri and sports commentator Kyle Martino. Their October 29, 2011, wedding capped off a grand three-day affair, complete with a bridal luncheon, cocktail party, and scavenger hunt organized by the pair.

Flanked by mom Susan Sarandon and stepfather Tim Robbins, Eva walked down the aisle to a gospel choir's rendition of Beyonce's "Halo" before joining her groom to exchange self-penned vows. "We promised to enjoy each other every day," she says.

After their engagement, Eva and Kyle scouted wedding sites in Charleston, South Carolina, a location chosen for its genteel Southern flavor and for the nostalgia factor: Kyle had vacationed there as a child, and all his siblings had wed there, too. They happened upon the stately Confederate Home, built in the early 1800s, and the property's courtyard filled with giant oaks won them over.

Here, the trees framed the couple as they said "I do."

The Cheree Berry-designed suite included whimsical taglines, including "meet us on the coast" printed on the save-the-dates.

Like mother, like daughter: Lela Rose made a knee-length charcoal dress for Sarandon that complemented the bride's with a similar lace neckline.

The bridesmaids, like Eva and her mom, donned Lela Rose dresses. Each wore a variation on the day's dominant color, slate, with the maid of honor in a floor-length version.

Maids carried petite posies of garden roses, trachelium, lisianthus, and dusty miller.

As a surprise, wedding dress designer Lela Rose stitched the couple's wedding date underneath the skirt of Eva's gown. "It was my something blue," she says.

Each of the 12 groomsmen's boutonnieres included a single anemone backed by a cluster of bavardia, bound with dusty miller sprayed gold.

Celebrity stylist Brad Goreski (center) turned to get a better view of the bride's big entrance.

Gospel choir Voices of Deliverance, which performed a cappella during the ceremony, also led guests to the reception.

A sky-high grouping of polo roses, peonies, and viburnum greeted guests at the entrance of the reception.

Beneath the towering floral arrangement were vintage springs, arranged on a mirrored tabletop, that held escort cards to lead guests to their tables.

Servers presented cleverly named cocktails -- Big Apple Bromance, Just Married Julep, and Marry Me Margarita -- on lacquered trays.

The newlyweds marked their spots at the head table with the Italian words for "to have" and "to hold," a nod to their roots.

The reception tables, punctuated by tall glass lamps, were dressed in the day's color scheme: slate gray and sienna.

The cheery geometric design on the La Tavola napkins lent a touch of brightness to the dark reception tables.

Instead of cake, guests chose from a spread of tasty treats, including apple strudels and mini Key-lime pies (the bride's favorite).

To show off her gown's dramatic back, Eva swapped her cathedral-length veil for two white orchids after the ceremony.
