Casey and Alan

Sparks flew the moment Casey Larkin and Alan Bond met. Casey, a clothing designer living in San Francisco, spied Alan, a Danish local, during a speech she was giving in Copenhagen on sustainable fabric dyes. Two years later, they decided to wed at Red Corral Ranch in Wimberley, Texas, with their friends, families, and their toddler, Penny, by their sides.

The Invitations

Invitations featured a five-page illustrated booklet tied with twine and a vintage heart charm. Its cover was emblazoned with crossed arrows; an arrow also showed up on the pair's guest-book table and was the shape of Casey's Jacquie Aiche wedding ring.

The Bridal Party

The bride was joined by her mom, flower girls, and attendants in this pretty photo op. "It was two girls to every guy," Casey says of her entourage, which included 10 'maids (nine regular and one junior) and three house-party members (a traditional southern way to honor pals without making them bridesmaids).

Mother of the Bride

Casey's mom held tight to her two granddaughters: Penny, in her arms, and Sophie, Penny's cousin (and fellow flower girl), by her side.

The Dapper Groom

The lapel of Alan's Mads Nørgaard suit was gussied up with a mint-green succulent and silvery brunia wrapped in pale pink ribbon, which pulled in the shades of his floral bow tie by Tux and Tulle.

To honor the little leading lady, a "lucky Penny" jar was placed on the sign-in table. Save-the-dates also sported an illustration of a penny etched with the words "Lucky in Love."

The Programs

To keep loved ones cool and in the know, a basket filled with peacock-flaunting fans as well as programs embellished with hand-dyed silk ribbons was placed at the ceremony's entryway.

The Ceremony

Casey and her father, Larry, strolled down the aisle to "Let Your Fingers Do the Walking," by Danish rock band Sort Sol, chatting as they went. "He has a good way of talking the nerves out of you -- and I think it also helped him hold back tears," she says.

Cocktail Hour

Cocktail hour took place outside the barn, where 200 feet of twinkling lights festooned with paper-doily lanterns set the scene. The signature drink: Hard lemonade made with Tito's vodka and lavender-infused lemon juice.

Feathered Friends

White peacocks roamed the grounds freely. "During our rehearsal dinner, an alpha male squawked hilariously after every toast and cheer," Casey says.

The Reception

casey-allen-msrw-mwds108964-0596.jpg

Inside the ranch's barn, 130 guests sat down for a dinner that merged Danish and Southern cuisines. The rafters dripped with white lights above long banquet tables, and antiques and family photos lined the walls. Carefully frayed painter's cloths running the width of the tables stood in for place mats, and vintage glass vases from Casey's mom's and aunts' collections held green-eyed roses, lisianthus, craspedia, lavender, and ranunculus.

Seating Cards

casey-alan-wds108964-4383.jpg

Casey and Alan turned an old map into a seating chart that highlighted just how global their guest list was: Little flags, hand-painted with names and table numbers, were pinned to each attendee's home country.

"Guest Book" Table Cloth

casey-allen-msrw-mwds108964-5813.jpg

Guests penned their sentiments on a tablecloth. "I'm going to embroider over each entry and use it at our next dinner party," says Casey.

The Place Settings

A calligraphed favor box and a napkin decorated with a hand-dyed silk ribbon and tiny succulent awaited guests at place settings.

The Favors

casey-allen-msrw-mwds108964-5909.jpg

Crystal favors, in kraft-paper boxes stamped with positive affirmations, awaited guests at each place setting. "I collect raw minerals, so they're a part of our home, and we wanted to share that," says the bride.

Eco-Friendly Confetti Toss

casey-allen-msrw-mwds108964-4374.jpg

Guests were given "Spread the Love" burlap sachets filled with black sunflower seeds to toss at the night's end. The ranch is a wildlife refuge for golden-cheeked warblers, which quickly gobbled up the seeds, making them an eco-friendly option.

The Cake

casey-allen-msrw-mwds108964-0592.jpg

Casey and Alan chose an organic whole-wheat cake with cream-cheese-and-berry filling and buttercream frosting from Mr. Natural, Casey's favorite vegetarian restaurant and bakery in Austin. The confection was decorated with succulents, peonies, and her great-grandmother's topper.

The Photo Booth

Casey's sister, Lauren, deconstructed more than 1,000 silk flowers and then glued the petals together curtain-style to create a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and photos during the reception captured with help from Smilebooth. "It was an homage to my favorite work of art," says the bride, referring to Jim Hodges' silk, cotton, and polyester sculpture "No Betweens."
