Cake Pinwheel Topper

These pinwheels only look origami-grade complicated; they’re really a breeze to craft.

Tools and Materials

Paper in various colors and weights
Double-sided tape
Wooden skewers


  1. Cut paper into squares of different sizes (ours ranged from 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches to 4 by 4 inches).
  2. Fold diagonally to crease, unfold, then snip halfway up creases.
  3. Bend points in and attach with tape. Glue to skewers (available at most grocery stores) and stick into cake.
