Megan Andrews and Alex Underwood tied the knot on September, 10, 2011, in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts -- a favorite vacation spot of the bride’s family. The New York City couple treated their 120 guests to a weekend-long casual yet elegant fete with subtle beachy touches and a classic New England feel.

The afternoon wedding was held at The Beach Plum Inn, where many of the guests stayed during the weekend.

Prior to the ceremony, the bride and groom strolled down to Menemsha beach with their photographer, Johnny Miller, for portraits.

Megan wore a Nicole Miller gown, Jimmy Choo shoes, and Dana Kellin jewelry. Alex chose a Paul Smith suit.

The bride carried lily of the valley, muscari, dahlias, gomphrena, ‘Majolica’ roses, freesia, ferns, and chamomile flowers. Her late mother's wedding ring was tied to the ribbon that bound the stems.

Megan’s bridesmaids wore Thread dresses in various shades of blue -- perfect for the coastal affair.

Lily of the valley and exploding grass were tied with a slate-gray satin ribbon for the groom's lapel. The groomsmen wore either clusters of a ‘Majolica’ spray roses or hellebores.

Megan walked down the aisle, strewn with rose petals, on the arm of her father, Jeffrey Andrews.

To help stave off the summer heat, programs doubled as fans.

Excerpts from Ernest Hemingway’s A Farewell to Arms and Roy Croft’s Love were read during the outdoor service. Guests looked on from wooden benches.

Tags hung on distressed wood boards painted with various icons such as lobsters, suns, and lighthouses, that first appeared on the couple's save-the-dates. These motifs were printed to designate table assignments.

Each guest’s chair was clearly marked.

The Beach Plum Inn displayed the raw bar in an authentic fishing boat. The vessel was later repurposed as a cooler to house the beers during the afterparty.

Dinner was served under a tent. Guests were divided among three long tables set with crisp white linens and custom runners. "We decided to mix our friends so they could all meet and spend time together," Megan says. "It was a risk that paid off.”

Cheerful arrangements of dahlias, ‘Majolica’ roses, scented geranium, gomphrena, snap dragon, and exploding grass dotted the tables.

An old remote-controlled Polaroid camera perched on a tripod gave guests a great photo op.

The couple chose a chocolate cake covered honey-fudge icing by Black Dog Bakery. It was adorned with fresh blooms and vines and placed on a simple glass pedestal.

A pair of smaller cakes (one red velvet and the other carrot cake) was also accented with flowers.

Megan and Alex took a spin on the dance floor to "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Paul McCartney.

A fire pit kept guests toasty as the evening wore on and the temperature dropped. Adirondack chairs were placed around it and marshmallows were brought out for roasting.
