Emily and Colby

Though they clicked instantly, for Emily Sieker and Colby Allen the timing was off at the start of their courtship: He was Los Angeles-bound and she was headed to South Korea. But after months of digital love letters, they both found themselves back in their mutual home state of Texas and in love.
Wedding planning started with the location: Marfa. A vivid palette of pink, orange, marigold, and cornflower blue was borrowed from the area's gorgeous sunsets and desert landscape. Slate walls and muted gardens served as a blank canvas for the bride's "color explosion."
The Capri Lounge and Event Space offered scenic spots for all the happy couple’s needs. A garden (on the left) provided a picturesque plot for their ceremony, a back courtyard made an ideal cocktail area, and the interior’s lofty ceiling and spaciousness was designed for dining and dancing.
Great fashion sense runs in the family: Emily chose a strapless lace Monique Lhuillier gown with matching capelet. And her mom fell for a coral chiffon number with fluttering petal details from Julian Gold, a designer boutique in San Antonio.
Inked with vintage letter and number stamps from Anthropologie, escort-card tags hung from lines of packing string.
The two-tier vanilla cake, covered with buttercream frosting and garden roses, sat on an antique pedestal that Emily purchased on Etsy.com. It was framed by vases of pincushion proteas and hydrangeas, and was just one of the sweets guests sank their teeth into. Also on offer? Berry tarts, petits fours, and dark-chocolate tortes.
