Joey and Tony

The wedding of Joey Tierney and Tony Schubert looked amazing and went off without a hitch. And why not? She's a fashion stylist and designer, and he's an event producer, after all. On September 10, 2011, they said "I do" along the Santa Barbara coastline. It was a memorable day and night filled with love, elegance, and plenty of panache.
The ceremony and reception took place at Villa Sevillano, a private estate with Old World charm in Carpenteria, California.
Joey wore a Jenny Packham gown and veil, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and Kwiat jewelry. Her groom chose a three-piece John Varvatos tuxedo, which he accessorized with a sharp pocket square and bow tie.
Joey carried a bunch of white garden roses, gardenias, dusty miller, and gray Brazilian berries created by Floral Art.
The little ladies wore Bonpoint dresses and head wreaths by Floral Art.
Tony surprised the bride with a pair of dancing white horses. They flanked the ceremony entryway as guests arrived.
The bride’s nephew, Owen, wore a tuxedo from La Miniatura and carried a box engraved with "The Schuberts 9.10.11."
Joey was escorted by her grandfather, Joe Middleton, down the bamboo-covered aisle lined with topiaries. For her debut song, she chose "Oh My Love" by John Lennon, played by a string quintet from West Coast Music.
Because the couple wanted to wait until the ceremony to see each other, they posed for Amy & Stuart Photography afterward, on the property’s long driveway.
Flutes of Veuve Clicquot, with raspberries or lavender, were also sipped.
The four-course meal, prepared by The Food Matters, began with an amuse bouche of seared tuna with avocado, watermelon, and jalapeno. An heirloom tomato salad topped with burrata, microgreens, and house-made basil oil followed. Next, a choice of three entrees: grilled filet mignon with peppercorn sauce, pommes puree, and carrot matchsticks; oven-roasted sea bass with artichoke caponata over sweet corn polenta; or butternut square tortelloni with asparagus and shaved Parmesan.
It took four days to build the dining area, which rested atop the venue’s polo field. It boasted a carpeted floor, tenting, lighting, walls, drapery, lounge areas, and topiaries.
Vintage green glass bottles housed hydrangeas, spider mums, sedum, green figs, and dianthus, while antique mirrored boxes showcased white dahlias and lisianthus. Succulents and candles in gold mercury-glass votives also dotted the tables, which were covered in natural linen and surrounded by leather chairs.
Fresh hydrangea and dusty miller leaves accented a French vanilla cake with berries made by Montecito Cakes.
