Favor Boxes

Favor boxes wrapped in yarn give your takeaways a homespun feel. Many of these ideas use the same technique: Attach end of yarn to bottom of box with a clear round mailing seal; wind yarn around box several times, cut off, and affix other end to bottom with a second seal. Precut all of your yarn before wrapping.
Leaving a small gift in guests' hotel rooms before they arrive is a personable way to greet them. Tea -- presented with wonderful accessories or just a note -- will be appreciated when the air is chilly. Give gifts to all out-of-town guests, or to special friends or relatives.
Cozy knitted ring pillows lend warmth to a winter wedding.
Nothing conveys a sense of comfort and warmth like candlelight. Place candles everywhere -- not just on tables but on ledges and in little nooks and crannies. (Check with the site manager about any restrictions.) The printed patterns on these candles glow when lit. They would make a pretty centerpiece on their own.
The soft touch of fashionable tweeds, a woolen fabric popular in the winter months, and monochromatic flowers form a fresh, friendly centerpiece. Just wrap fabric around inexpensive glass or plastic cylinders (rectangular vases look nice, too). Mix different tweeds in coordinating colors. The flowers play off the texture of the material.
If the forecast is frosty, offer these cozy extras. Place a stack of shawls (beltoutlet.com) at the entrance to your ceremony, or drape one over every other chair at your reception.
For a cool-weather wedding, why not give programs their own woolly wraps? Felt pouches bring a cozy touch and bursts of fall color to the ceremony.
With warm and fuzzy yarn accents, a plain stationery set becomes wedding-worthy. Choose a textured stock and matching envelope (we lined ours with gift wrap), and a soft ink color to make cards refined.
For a soft accessory, follow the Victorian tradition of carrying flowers in bouquetiers, elaborate vase- or bowl-shaped holders. This one is made to resemble lacy wool.
Collect just the right ingredients for to warm guests. Start with a large container of hot cocoa and a bag of mini marshmallows, measuring them out into individual serving sizes and placing them in small cellophane bags. You can also include two mugs, each filled with a pair of new, cozy socks.
Recalling the winning air of an award rosette, this little adornment flourishes even in the depths of winter.
