"Lose your shoes for our I do's," proclaimed the invites to Anne and Josh's Caribbean wedding. The two New Yorkers (by way of California) exchanged vows on their favorite stretch of sand surrounded by loved ones.

The couple's June 5, 2010, nuptials capped a celebratory weekend on Providenciales, in the Turks and Caicos Islands. As California transplants living in New York City, they reasoned that a destination wedding would be the best way to get their bicoastal guests together. And the Regent Palms resort on Provo (as the island is nicknamed) was a shoo-in. In 2006, they had traveled there and come back raving about it. "We told everyone we knew that they had to go, but no one took our advice," says Anne with a laugh. So they seized the chance to introduce their friends and family to a creamy strand of beach called Grace Bay.

Anticipating wind and sand, Anne ruled out a formal gown and chose a flowing Vera Wang sheath. Josh opted for a linen J.Crew suit.

Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos provided plenty of stunning scenery. "During our ceremony, waves were crashing in the background. It was amazing," says the bride.

Guests received a bag stocked with a welcome booklet, striped beach blanket, and sunscreen.

Invitations, in the day's seashell palette, featured filigree flourishes.

Maids, in Sarah Seven frocks, walked up the aisle to an acoustic version of the Beach Boys' "California Girls"; the longtime friends surprised Anne with a pair of nude Christian Louboutin peep-toes, which she wore after the ceremony.

Groomswear looked beach-chic in light-colored suits and pink ties.

During the ring exchange, Anne gave Josh a rose-gold band inscribed with LOML ("love of my life").

Anne strung beads on ribbons for her flower girls.

Wedding planning came easily for the couple, who envisioned an elegant yet fuss-free celebration. "We really wanted everyone to embrace the tropical location," says Anne. One example? A sign directing guests to "lose their shoes" echoed the same sentiment featured on the invitations.

The happy couple show the camera some love.

Fruity rum drinks were served straight up.

Guests were asked to write well-wishes to the couple on squares of fabric that had been quilted together and displayed at the reception.

Menu-napkins, embellished with an illustration of their three berry cake, informed guests about the evening's offerings.

Mercury-glass votives and small clusters of roses and hydrangeas adorned tables.

The couple's chairs were marked by white-washed-style signs.

A two-tier confection in the wedding's signature hues provided a sweet ending to the celebration.
