A couple throw a seaside celebration at a private estate in Hawaii that President Obama frequents.

The bride and groom posed with their casually clad bridesmaids and groomsmen on the beach at the private estate they rented for their October nuptials in Oahu.

"We'd been looking for an estate with a pretty backyard on the water," Stacie says, "and suddenly I thought, 'Why not Obama's place?'" The vacation house the president rents is just down the street from her aunt's home. "When my relatives heard our plan, they said we were out of our minds," says Stacie. Undaunted, she tracked down the owner, and -- with plenty of aloha spirit -- he said yes.

Kris and his groomsmen cruised to the wedding in style.

Banners were affixed to some bicycles.

Guests were given programs that included the meanings of some traditional Hawaiian wedding traditions.

Pink and orange mokara orchids and pincushion protea are nestled in woven lauhala baskets.

The bride's petal pusher wears a plumeria head lei called a haku. Says Stacie, "All the leis were handmade by my aunts."

Stacie topped the long reception tables with details inspired by luaus: luahala-mat runners and monkeypod wood plates.

Puamana, a popular family act, played Hawaiian classics.
