Soon after they started dating, Courtney, an executive assistant, gave Chris, a contractor, a framed photo of the two of them. "I'd written 'True Love Waits' on the back and told him not to look at it for five years," says the bride, who just knew they'd last even longer. Two years later, they were engaged. At the wedding, Chris, who'd respectfully never peeked at her note, surprised her with a first-dance song. The tune was Radiohead's "True Love Waits."

Courtney and Chris restored an old barn on her uncle's spectacular property in the Sierra Nevada.

The couple wed under a ceremony arch adorned with rustic branches and hanging jars.

White flowers were accented with a few touches of pink garden roses and green berries.

The bridesmaids and groomsmen all wore neutral colors to coordinate with the event's natural setting.

At the end of the celebration, the pair rode off in a decked-out Ford Model A.
