After four years of dating and an even longer friendship, Alivia and Scott tied the knot on August 14, 2010, in their home state of Oregon. They set out to create a personal and mostly DIY wedding, and with its rustic details, eco-friendly touches, and modern yellow-and-gray palette, the summer celebration fit the couple perfectly.

Alivia wears a dress by Elizabeth Dye of The English Department, with Frye boots, a headpiece from Anthropologie, and a necklace (her "something borrowed") from her mother.

Chase Flowers created a loose bouquet of orange dahlias, white trachelium, yellow alstromeria, ivory roses, white stock, yellow craspedia, peach carnations, green bupleurum, and variegated pittosporum.

The six girls in Alivia's bridal party selected their own yellow dresses. Alivia made them headbands and gave them bracelets from Kate Spade.

Scott and his groomsmen don gray suits and ties made to match the tree on the invitation.

The flowergirls wear dresses from crewcuts by J.Crew, accented by belts and hairpieces made by the bride. They carry rose petals in baskets from Michaels.

Alivia and Scott pose with the bike he gave her as a birthday present at the beginning of their relationship.

The bike was later parked near the ceremony and its basket was filled with programs.

The couple designed a booklet-style program.

The program included sketches and bios of the bridal party as well as a scavenger hunt of sentimental items that could be found throughout the day.

A door and fence piece was made by Kirk Gunson, a family friend, to mark the entrance of the ceremony site. He included the couple's initials above the door frame as a surprise.

The hutch formerly belonged to Alivia's mother. Baby pictures of the bride and the groom, as well as a hand-stitched runner with the couple's names and birth dates, and the wedding date decorate it.

Potted flowering plants are used at the ceremony and reception.

Cones of birdseed (made by the maid of honor) and horns add fun and whimsy to the ceremony. Stickers read: "Throw the Seed, Blow the Horn, and Shout Hooray! When Scott and Alivia come back down your way!"

Alivia's hometown pastor presides over the ceremony while 160 guests look on.

During the ceremony, which mixed traditional and modern elements, the couple exchanged rings from New Twist. At its conclusion, Alivia and Scott walked up the aisle to The Cure's "Just Like Heaven."

Escort cards are pinned to a screen at the entrance to the reception tent. The dresser holds metal letters -- one for Alivia, one for Scott, and one for their new shared last name, Gibbens.

Lawn games, such as croquet and cornhole, are offered as an activity during the reception.

Cards embellished with a faux bois border and two small yellow birds are set out for guests' well wishes. A large Mason jar collects them.

In addition to a garland of tissue paper flowers, photos of family members decorate the mantel in the outdoor lounge area. Alivia and Scott wanted to honor and thank their families for their lessons about love and marriage.

The day before the wedding, flowers from a local farm were picked and assembled into centerpieces by family members. Alivia's mom created table numbers using embroidery hoops and various ribbons.

The couple made their napkins from old bed sheets. The fabrics were also used for the escort cards and the ring pillow.

Flavors Catering & Events put together a local and organic menu of vegetarian lasagna, lemon-caper chicken, spinach salad with raspberry vinaigrette, potatoes, and fruit salad.

Alivia and Scott chose Nat King Cole's "(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons" for their first dance. Paper lanterns and tissue paper pom-poms swayed overhead.

Guests took to the dance floor as a deejay from Portland Productions played.

Pies baked by family members and friends served as dessert. Among the creative crusts: these wedding bells and one with the couple's initials and wedding date.

Alivia's mother made her favorite cake -- Funfetti with cream cheese frosting -- in two tiers. A custom topper by Over The Top Studio matched the silhouettes on the wedding invitation.

At the photo station, guests frame themselves with the help of an oversized wooden picture frame. These pictures were included in the couple's thank you notes.
