Grooms Christopher Herbert and Timothy Long share a private moment near Martha Stewart's horse pasture in Bedford, New York. Both men are sporting attire by J.Crew.

A centerpiece brims with white Japanese beautyberry branches and peegee hydrangea, while vintage inkwells and twine-wrapped bottles display jasmine, dahlias, and yellow zinnias. "We chose antique vessels because they're beautiful, romantic, and have a unique sense of history," says the couple's event designer, David Stark of David Stark Design and Production.

The outdoor service was held in front of Martha's picturesque stone-crafted horse barn. After Chris and Tim reaffirmed their vows in front of 70 of their closest friends and family, they took to the lawn for a garden party replete with lawn games, picnic baskets, a twenties-style jazz band, and a rustic spread of culinary offerings set up to mimic a farmers' market. Late in the day, with the party in full swing, the couple sneaked away to the horse pasture for a few private photographs. "We had a great view of the reception, so we just stood there and watched for a while," says Chris. "Everyone was having so much fun, and it looked so romantic. It was everything we could have hoped for." And, as Tim would say, anything but middle-of-the-road.

The invitations were inspired by Aspen, where the two met.

Elan Artists Chamber Orchestra, which played "Nimrod" from Edward Elgar's "Enigma" Variations as Chris and Tim walked to the altar.

A guest book of sheet music perched on an antique music stand is a nod to the grooms' careers.

The happy couple say "I do."

Personalized programs and tiny silver bells for ringing during the recessional were placed on each chair.

Tim's niece served as flower girl at the ceremony.

Chris is escorted by his mother (and Martha's sister), Laura Plimpton.

Tim's mom said a few words to the wedding guests after the ceremony was over.

Inkwells contain cuttings of autumn fern, liriope leaves, feverfew, and chamomile, while apples and a white pumpkin tie in the season.

Smaller arrangements and clusters of inkwells and flowers were scattered around the reception.

Baskets scattered around the property are stocked with carrots, flatbreads, pears, plums, grapes, slices of hard cheese, and bottles of Chateau St. Jean wine.

Caprese tea-sandwich appetizers were a vegetarian favorite.

Pear gingertinis, pomegranate-blueberry punch, and crabapple sours are ready for sipping.

Guests play croquet on the sprawling lawn.

Partygoers relax on blankets complete with oversize throw pillows and arrangements of blooms. "The weather could not have been more ideal," says Tim.

Wicker chairs foster intimate gatherings under the tent and outside on the grass. "We really wanted everyone to feel comfortable," says Chris.

The colorful provisions included grilled marinated hanger steak; sliced soppressata; green-zebra, orange, red, and yellow tomatoes; herb and cheese flatbreads; and ficelle, raisin-pecan, and olive breads. Garden scissors were placed next to rosemary and basil so guests could snip fresh herbs into their dishes. Additionally, strawberry-fig jam, rough mustard, and chive butter were offered as condiments.

Guests dug into three square buttercream cakes -- one vanilla, one chocolate, and one marble to symbolize the new union.

Loved ones went home with T&C (for Tim and Chris): assorted teas and vanilla-lemon-cream cookies.

Personalized kites with Chris's and Tim's initials were given to guests to fly during the outdoor reception.

The dessert bar was loaded with goodies, including caramel Lady apples with chocolate-ganache cores.

Miniature pies were served by Peter Callahan as part of the dessert bar.

Miniature vanilla milkshakes and chocolate chip cookies were also served to guests at the reception.

Jazz band Carte Blanche had the crowd dancing away the afternoon -- "they looked like they walked straight out of the 1920s," says Tim.

Martha's chow, Ghenghis Khan, makes himself comfortable.
