In a nod to the city they've called home while completing their medical training, Mieun, a biologist, and Till, a doctor, wed in a low-key ceremony in the Office of the City Clerk. Afterward, they used some of the city's best resources to make their wedding special.

Ticket in hand, the couple waited less than an hour to exchange their "I do's."

Till proudly showed off the marriage license, prior to the ceremony.

The couple exchanged wedding bands from New York City staple Tiffany and Co. Mieun wore a dress from BCBG MAXAZRIA and a sweater from J.Crew, and Till donned a Boss

suit.

The groom's happiness overflowed after the clerk proclaimed Mieun and Till husband and wife.

The groom once again showed off the paperwork -- here, the wedding certificate.

Mieun made her own bouquet using ranunculus, her favorite flower.

As the couple exited the building, their friends and family showered them with bubbles.

In traditional German weddings, the couples play games following the ceremony. So Mieun and Till had to use tiny scissors to cut through a large painted heart, made by the mother of the groom, before they could walk down the steps outside the building.

Filled with joy, Mieun and Till, accompanied by their family and friends from Germany, rode the tram to Roosevelt Island for a casual picnic at their home.

Guests walked along the Roosevelt Island waterfront. Paper parasols offered shade on the sunny May afternoon.

Later, 65 guests gathered at a loft in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. Location 05 offered a blank slate for the reception, which the couple dressed up with butterflies and simple DIY touches. Views of the city skyline lit up the night.

Low, shallow bowls of floating candles and ranunculus anchored each table. Guests dined on a buffet of Korean foods prepared by Kang Suh Restaurant

Cosmopolitans added a pop of color -- and a nod to New York -- to the evening reception.

White vases filled with an assortment of flowers in a variety of colors -- ordered by the couple from New York City's flower district and prepared the night before -- dotted the room.

Chopsticks from Pearl River Market were customized with the couple's names, the wedding date, and the name of each guest.

Cupcakes from ChikaLicious served as a late-night treat.
