Candice and Scott attended the same boarding school but never really crossed paths until after graduating, when they sat next to each other at an alumni planning event. Friends first, the two eventually started dating, and the rest, as they say, is history. After three years, they wed on an early March day in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Inspired by the area's palm trees -- they used them as their color-palette inspiration and for some of their visual details -- Candice and Scott opted to blend comfort and class with some traditional Florida aesthetics.
Chris Eastland created the couple's wedding logo: a palm tree and a burgee flag sporting the couple's initials. It was first introduced on the invitation suite, which was designed and letterpressed by Dauphine Press.
The reception and response cards were also letterpressed in green, with blind hits of the flag and the palm tree, respectively.
Candice and Scott were married in All Saints Episcopal Church; 130 guests attended the late-afternoon nuptials.
Candice paired Manolo Blahnik shoes and an Amsale veil with her Swiss dot Christos gown.
Scott's blazer was made by Martin Greenfield in Brooklyn, New York. The liner was the green of the wedding's palette, so he'd be reminded of that day each time he wore it again.
Candice carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley, ranunculus, and tulips made by Parrish Designs.
Directly following the ceremony, Candice and Scott boarded her father's boat for the journey from the church to the reception venue. A "Just Married" banner (in the color of the day) was affixed to the stern.
Candice and Scott took some time to sit together on the bow before the festivities began -- one of the bride's favorite moments of the day.
Candice and Scott timed their ceremony to end just in time for them to watch the sun set on the water as they journeyed down the Intracoastal Waterway.
Photographer Liz Banfield was on hand to capture the luminescence and precious moments between the couple.
After the ceremony, the flag emblem, first flown on the boat, featured the couple's new shared last initial. A larger flag hung on the flagpole at the reception site, the Lauderdale Yacht Club.
Round tables in the reception tent boasted white-and-green floral centerpieces, half of them with multiple vases of singular types of flowers, the other half with a single, mixed arrangement. Ranunculus, tulips, anemones, hyacinths, and bells of Ireland helped keep the mood fresh and appropriate without going too tropical.
A simple three-tier vanilla cake covered in cream-cheese buttercream made by We Take the Cake was dressed up with a cascade of fresh flowers.
Street Talk Orchestra played Josh Kelley's "Sunset Lover" as the newlyweds took to the dance floor.
To get everyone dancing, the band moved right into Hall and Oates' "You Make My Dreams."
Wedding planner Vanessa Oppo of Karma Goddess pulled the petals off 200 white roses for guests to toss as the couple exited the reception.
