Long before meeting as adults, this couple had grown up spending summers in the same coastal region of northern Tuscany. The bride, a voice-over actress in Milan, had come to New York for the month to pursue her love of jazz singing, and she had rented an apartment on the same Manhattan block as the famed Le Cirque restaurant, where Marco is a co-owner. The couple were introduced, but Sabrina moved back to Italy, where over the next year the two exchanged a few friendly text messages. In June 2007, while on separate vacations in Tuscany, they met up again -- this time for a proper first date. And on June 12, 2010, four years from the day they met, they were married.
Here, the couple share a joyous moment by the beach after the ceremony. Sabrina is wearing Claire Pettibone; Marco is clad in Ermenegildo Zegna.
Along with Tuscan varietals and plenty of sparkling wine, the meal included a bounty of local specialties. Antipasti and salumi started it off, followed by salad, fish stew, and ravioli with ricotta, butter, and sage. A spit-roasted whole pig came next, and then, finally, the sweets: pastries and a heart-shaped strawberry wedding cake.
