The couple enlisted the help of designer and coordinator Jennifer Carroll to plan their evening nuptials on their Virginia estate named Edgehill, a historic property built for the daughter of Thomas Jefferson and her husband.
Ginger and Greg took portraits with photographer Jen Fariello on the grounds of their home. Here, the couple stands in front of an old icehouse.
Ginger wore a white gown with embroidered lace by Priscilla of Boston. She posed on an antique French settee on the lawn.
Two signature cocktails were served: "The Double G," a vodka tonic with a splash of Campari that the groom loves and taught to the local bartenders; and "The Triple G," a St. Germain cocktail created for the couple's special day.
Escort cards, calligraphed by Heather Rolfe of Heather Belle Ink, hung from manzanita branches arranged in moss with ferns and blooms.
Large urns overflowing with floral arrangements flanked the entrance to the reception tent.
Ginger spent a great deal of time thinking about the look of her wedding. While flipping through a home decor magazine, she found a centerpiece idea with just the right feeling for her dinner reception. She then found a white birch grower in Maine (the tree is not native to the South) who hand-harvested trees of the proper diameter, dried the bark for a few months, and shipped them to their estate.
Greg and the couple's farm manager used chain saws to hollow out spots in the wood for the hydrangea arrangements, created by Pat's Floral Designs. Floating candles rounded out the look of each table in the tent.
Heather Rolfe's teal-blue calligraphy continued throughout the wedding. Here, the tented table numbers, with delicate flourishes.
A feather-print design by Amy Graham Stigler for Bella Figura was customized with each guest's name calligraphed below the couple's triple-G monogram.
The 150 guests dined on a menu by Have Food Will Travel, which included fillet of beef au poivre with Madeira sauce, and grilled salmon with dill lemon butter, both served with smashed potatoes and haricots verts.
A classic photo booth at the back of the tent captured candid pictures of the guests.
Cakes of Art created this five-tier confection, which was covered in coconut shavings.
Emme St. James and Her Jazz Gentlemen played during the reception. They did a rendition of Etta James's "At Last" for the couple's first dance.
Ginger and Greg wanted a definite transition between dinner and dancing. The way to do that? Fireworks! After the fireworks display ended, DJ Stroud took over the music and the fabric draped around the tent lit up in different colors.
