Outdoor Weddings: On the Dance Floor

Martha Stewart Weddings, Volume 25 2003

A floor makes dancing more fun and comfortable for guests, and it will protect shoes and floor-length gowns from grass and dirt. Installing a dance floor is also important if the terrain is uneven or the site is in a low-lying area (where water can collect and make the ground soggy, even on sunny days). A floor may be painted with a decorative pattern (such as a geometric design or a black-and-white checkerboard), or covered with wood parquet or artificial turf.
