Martha Stewart Weddings, Fall 2002
This cake was named for a ski resort in Switzerland, the Megeve, and it resembles nothing so much as a mountain -- one, perhaps, of childhood dreams, covered in chocolate curls. Beneath them are disks of vanilla meringue layered with chocolate mousse.
Return to Gateaux de Mariage

This cake has been a "family tradition" for years and no one really knows where we got the recipe to start with. Altough it is far from being a low-calory cake, it's always a treat to have some and can be good for any occasion! We also made a Yule log cake out of it, by making rectangular shaped meringues. You can also personnalize the chocolate mousse by adding nuts, fruit flavors or liquor.
Strangely enough, my uncle went to M?ɬ
I have the recipe, but do not have enough space here to give it to you. Email me @ hscholzie@aol.com, subject Megeve Cake, and I will be glad to send it off to you. I have been making this cake for over 35 years.
Where is the recipe??? I would love to make this for my father's wedding, sounds delish.
Megeve is not in Switzerland but in the French Alps!!!
