Making Beaded Florets

Martha Stewart Weddings, Volume 35 2006

Wired clusters of pearls add color and shimmer to this nosegay of white lisianthus and roses. You can make the pearl sprigs and have your florist incorporate them into your arrangement, or see if he will create them for you.

Pearl Sprig How-To
For each sprig, you will need 25 to 36 beads in various sizes and a spool of 28-gauge beading wire. Place beads in a shallow container so they're easy to access.

1. Thread all the beads randomly onto spooled wire; do not cut wire.

2. Group five or six of the beads, loop wire, and twist below beads to create a short stem. Repeat for remaining beads. Snip wire 4 inches beyond last cluster.

3. Group the clusters and twist long ends of wire together as shown to form a stem. Give the finished sprigs to your florist.
