Gift from the Garden

Martha Stewart Weddings, Summer 2001

In the end, isn't all romance about the hidden and the slightly mysterious? This bouquet is simple, but it's simple in the way a cloud is, an untouchable but seductive lure. The flowers are sweet peas on the vine, plucked straight from a garden and wrapped in tulle, for a lighter-than-air look.

On their own, an armful of sweet peas, with their tendrils curling over a soon-to-be-ringed hand, would be lovely at an afternoon garden wedding. Enveloped in tulle, they become ethereal, and eloquent, speaking of gentleness and comfort.
