This painterly tiered arrangement, created by Dutch floral artist Marcel Wolterinck, makes a grand centerpiece for a wedding reception. Artfully encased in an unusual brass vase Marcel found in Paris, the display features a broad palette of pinks, yellows, and oranges, as well as a variety of textures -- from satiny calla lilies to ruffled parrot tulips. To emphasize each individual bloom's texture and shape, Marcel removes the foliage from each stem. The key to properly assembling the array, he says, is to start with the bigger flowers, such as peonies and full-bloom roses, and work down to the smaller cockscombs and spider lilies.
