Encourage loved ones to dig in -- literally. For cute place settings that will grow and grow on your guests, fill tiny packets with the seeds of your favorite flower, and stitch them onto simply printed seating cards; then watch the happiness blossom.
Download our editable clip art for the escort cards (each sheet has 6 cards), and type in the names of your guests.
Print onto 8 1/2-by-11-inch white card stock. Use a craft knife and a metal straightedge to cut between the crop marks (do not cut all the way to the edges of the paper; this will leave the crop marks intact for subsequent cuts).
Download our clip art for the sweet pea label, with planting instructions; each sheet has 33. Print them onto 8 1/2-by-11-inch standard copier paper.
Use a bone folder and a metal straightedge to score creases between the dotted crop marks; these will mark the fold lines. Then use a craft knife and a metal straightedge to cut between the crop marks (do not cut all the way to the edges of the paper; this will leave the crop marks intact for subsequent cuts).
Fold each tag along the score marks. Fill glassine envelopes with a scoop of seeds, and fold the top over by 1/4 inch.
To assemble, lay the folded label on top of the glassine envelope, aligning the top edge, and place the packet on top of the escort card. Use a sewing machine to sew the pieces together using a straight stitch (6 stitches per inch is the best setting). Pull loose threads to the back of the card, tie, and snip ends.
