Seed Tin Favor How-To

Martha Stewart Weddings, Spring 2010

These seed-filled tins make it possible for each of your guests to take home a pop-up garden. We affixed labels to each one -- names and date on the front, and simple planting instructions on the back.

Our labels are designed to fit a 2-inch clear-top favor tin; we filled the tin with a spoonful or two of a seed mix for flowering plants inside.

Clear-top favor tin from Beau-coup.

Wedding seed mix, $45 for 1 pound, Flower Art & Soul.

Download our editable clip art, and type in your first names and wedding date. Each page contains 10 band labels and 10 round planting-instruction labels.

Print each page of bands and round labels onto an 8 1/2-by-11-inch sheet of self-adhesive label paper.

Use a 1 1/2-inch circle craft punch to punch out the round labels (turn the craft punch upside down so you can see the design through the hole; this will help you align the labels). Use sharp scissors to cut the bands.

Affix round labels to the undersides of the tins. After filling each tin with seeds, affix bands across the tops and down the sides to seal.
