Personalizing Invitations: Destination Design

Martha Stewart Weddings, Fall 2000

Give your guests a sense of place. An invitation to a wedding at the Alhambra in Spain is extended using a picture of the exotic building. The menu cards for the same event use Moorish patterns on the borders to suggest the motif without actually repeating it.

For a wedding held at a family farm (below), a barn is used on the invitation, while different farm animals top the other cards.

San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge is used throughout as a symbol of the couple's hometown.

The chapel where the bride and groom will marry dominates the card.

For a garden wedding, the garden is on the invite, while smaller botanical icons decorate the cards.
