Enchanted by Nature: Floral

Martha Stewart Weddings, Fall 2003

A floor-length mohair coat with floral tendrils embroidered in metallic thread would befit the Greek goddess Demeter herself; coat and silk georgette slip dress by Reem Acra. Tiered necklace of frosted-glass leaves and silver, pearl, glass, and quartz beads by Claire Fielden.

Beaded cherry blossoms are scattered across an overlay of tulle on this fluted silk charmeuse gown (below) by Melissa Sweet, paired here with an elegant silk-and-raffia shawl by Mary Jaeger.

The dense floral lace of this classic satin ball-gown by Velasco Couture is laser cut -- a modern technique used to create intricate patterns.

An understated organza dress by Justina McCaffrey (below, left) is adorned with a vintage satin ribbon and a yellow-sapphire floral pin by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany and Co. A scrunched-ribbon-and-chiffon dress by Badgley Mischka (below, right) looks as fresh as new-fallen snow.

A white floral-lace skirt and cotton top by Reem Acra are perfect for a country bride.
