As video equipment has proliferated, homemade takeoffs of "The Newlywed Game" have become quite popular: The groom-to-be is interviewed beforehand, and his responses are compared to those of his intended. For a friend's shower, Nickelodeon marketing director Sharon Kroll invented a game she called Bridal-Shower Bingo. She made bingo cards with pictures of possible gifts, which, she says, "fixed the problem of people being bored watching the gifts being opened."
