Garden Shower

Martha Stewart Weddings, Volume 1 1995

A garden shower can mean many things. The couple may want to establish an informal registry at a local nursery for bulbs and plants they'd like best. For one shower, guests bought lilac bushes to landscape a couple's new home. A tree is also a lovely gift from a group: Guests might arrive prepared to plant it. Gardening (and lawn-tending) tools are welcome, especially for the couple moving from apartment to house. For city dwellers, the garden shower is still an option. The couple may be given window boxes (and the tools they require) or the gift of flowers delivered once a month, with special arrangements for the holidays and for their first anniversary celebration.
