Painted Bouquet Ribbon How-To

Tools and Supplies

  • 2 to 3 yards of wide grosgrain ribbon (we used M&J Trimming 1 1/2-inch Chromspun, $4/yd, mjtrim.com)
  • Newspaper or kraft paper to protect work surface
  • Masking tape
  • Acrylic paint in peach and cream
  • Foam brushes

Basic How-To

Lay ribbon flat on paper-covered work surface. Apply strips of masking tape to ribbon, placing some at a 45-degree angle and others straight across. Vary the positions and spacing. Dip foam brush in paint, and stroke paint lightly over the ribbon. Let dry, about 30 minutes, and remove masking tape.
