Glazed Orange Slices

These delicious candied-orange slices are the perfect bed for a heart-shaped cake that's all about chocolate to sit on. Use a serrated knife for the thinnest slices.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 oranges, very thinly sliced

Directions

  1. In a stockpot, combine sugar and 5 cups water. Bring to a boil; add orange slices. Simmer gently, covered, 45 minutes. Remove from heat; cool.

Cook's Notes

Store in an airtight container, refrigerated, up to 3 days.
